2024 Lakewood Fourth of July Parade | The City of Lakewood, Ohio

LAKEWOOD FOURTH OF JULY PARADE GENERAL INFORMATION

PARADE DATE: Thursday, July 4, 2024 (rain or shine)

PARADE TIME: 10:00 AM

PARADE ROUTE: East on Lake Ave., from Kenneth to Lakewood Park

LINE-UP TIME: 9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. We ask that all organizations arrive no later than 9:30 AM.

LINE-UP LOCATION: Edgewater Drive, between Webb and Kenneth

The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. by exiting Kenneth Drive south onto Lake Avenue and will proceed east past the reviewing stand before the entrance to Lakewood Park. Parade officials will be available along the parade route to provide radio communication or information if required.

All units, equipment, and passengers are to be dropped off at the corner of Webb and Lake OR the corner of Kenneth and Lake.
Parade participants who are NOT driving their vehicles in the parade must park their vehicles at Lakewood Park. A shuttle will be available to transport drivers only to the parade line-up point on Edgewater Drive. Drivers are advised to drop off all passengers before parking their vehicles at Lakewood Park, as the shuttle will be limited to drivers only.
Parade officials will be available to provide line-up and route information. Identified by their “Parade Official” t-shirts, they can also provide radio communication.
Motorized units in the parade which are scheduled to line up on Edgewater will face east on the south side of Edgewater (allowing movement on the north side of the street).
Motorized units in the parade which are scheduled to line up on Kenneth will face south on the west side of Kenneth (allowing movement on the east side of the street).
There will be a judging contest. The judging committee will review all entries as they pass the reviewing stand near Lakewood Park. Winners will be honored at the July 15^th Lakewood City Council Meeting.

FOURTH OF JULY PARADE RULES

Motorized units in the parade must arrive by 9:15 a.m.
No more than one commercial vehicle per organization will be permitted.
Due to safety concerns, NO ONE WILL BE PERMITTED TO THROW CANDY OR OTHER OBJECTS FROM CARS, FLOATS OR OTHER MOVING VEHICLES! Participants may walk alongside vehicles and hand out candy and other items to spectators. Please note: Participants may be asked to leave the parade if this rule is violated.
All persons under the age of 18 operating a bicycle, skateboard, roller-skates or in-line skates are required to wear a protective helmet
No squirt guns or water balloons.
No smoking while riding or walking in the parade.
Upon approaching the entrance to Lakewood Park, ALL MOTOR UNITS WILL PROCEED EAST PAST THE PARK ENTRANCE, WHERE THEY WILL DISBAND. Only units on foot will enter Lakewood Park and disband in parking areas.
