City Replacing Select Number of Blue Recycling Toters

November 08, 2024

REMINDER: If you received a new blue recycling toter the week of November 4th, the old ones will be picked up on your normal collection day this week. Please use your old toter for collection, place it on the curb, and leave it at the street after recycling is picked up. A separate crew will come to collect the old toter.

The City of Lakewood is currently replacing a select number of residents’ blue recycling toters. However, due to a delay, the pickup of the old recycling toters will now take place the week beginning Monday, November 11th.

‼️NOTE: If you did NOT receive a notification letter and a new blue recycling toter this week, you will be unaffected by this program, so please disregard the instructions below.‼️

On your normal refuse/recycling pickup day during the week of November 11, please:

1️⃣ Fill your old recycling toter with mixed recycling materials as you usually would;
2️⃣ Place it on the curb in the morning for collection;
3️⃣ Leave the recycling toter on the curb after your recycling has been picked up. A separate crew will come by to take it away. After this pickup, you can then use your new recycling toter to collect mixed recycling materials.

The funding for the recycling toter replacement program has been provided thanks to a grant from the Ohio EPA.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have further questions, please contact the Division of Refuse and Recycling at (216) 252-4322.
