Virtual Public Hearing Notice
CARES Act Community Development Block Grant
The United States Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) requires local governments that receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds to consider public comments regarding the proposed uses of these funds described in their five-year Consolidated Plans, Annual Action Plans, and amendments to these documents.
The City of Lakewood has received Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Response (CDBG- CV) funding via the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, enacted on March 27, 2020 in response to the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. CARES Act funding is restricted to activities already eligible under the CDBG program that “prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
On Monday, November 9, 2020 at 6:00pm Lakewood’s Citizens Advisory Committee will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of reviewing and soliciting citizen feedback regarding a proposed modification to the use of Lakewood’s first round of CDBG-CV funding. Due to pandemic social distancing requirements, the hearing will be held virtually via the GoToMeeting platform. Please visit the Lakewood City Calendar @ http://www.lakewoodoh.gov/calendar/ for information regarding how residents can participate in and submit feedback during the hearing. All citizen comments will be reviewed, submitted to HUD, and become part of the public record.
Please contact Dan Wyman @ daniel.wyman@lakewoodoh.net for additional information regarding City of Lakewood CARES Act funding.
