Notice is hereby given that Lakewood’s Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) will hold the second of two public hearings associated with the City’s FY22 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Annual Action Plan on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 6pm in the Lakewood City Hall Auditorium (12650 Detroit Avenue).
The CAC reviews requests for federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funding submitted by City departments and not-for-profit agencies then makes recommendations to Lakewood City Council regarding the allocation of these funds during the coming year.
Hearing topics include descriptions of the CDBG, ESG, and HOME programs; preliminary estimates of funding the City anticipates receiving from these programs in FY22; Lakewood’s federal funding citizen participation process; the City’s high priority housing and non-housing community development needs and goals; and proposed substantial amendments to Lakewood’s FY20 and FY21 HUD Annual Action Plans concerning the redistribution of previously allocated CDBG funds to other eligible activities.
The Citizens Advisory Committee’s third and final public hearing will be held in Spring, 2022 after HUD notifies the City regarding its actual FY22 federal funding awards.
All CAC sessions are properly noticed and open to the public. Citizen feedback received during the comment period at the conclusion of each hearing becomes part of the public record.
