The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival will perform Richard II on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Lakewood Park Bandstand.
RICHARD II – Richard, who has reigned since a very young age, believes his power is divinely bestowed. When he arrogantly over-reaches by seizing the inheritance of Henry Bolingbroke in order to fund a foreign war, an insurrection is raised and Richard is toppled from the throne. A taut political thriller with soaring poetry, this lyrical tragedy is well-suited to an election season.
