Lakewood’s Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) will hold the second public hearing associated with the City’s FY25 U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Annual Action Plan on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 6pm in the Lakewood City Hall (12650 Detroit Avenue) Auditorium.

The CAC reviews requests for federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding submitted by City departments and not-for-profit agencies then makes recommendations to Lakewood City Council regarding the allocation of these funds during the coming year.

Hearing topics include descriptions of the CDBG and ESG programs; preliminary estimates of funding the City anticipates receiving from these sources in FY25; Lakewood’s citizen participation process with regard to federal funding; and the City’s high priority housing and non-housing community and economic development needs and goals.

If necessary, the Committee will convene a third Public Hearing regarding Lakewood’s FY25 Annual Action Plan and FY25-FY29 Five-Year Consolidated Plan in Spring 2025 after HUD notifies the City regarding its actual FY25 federal funding awards.

All CAC sessions are properly noticed and open to the public. Citizen feedback received during the comment period at the conclusion of each hearing is entered into the public record and included in the City’s HUD Annual Action Plan submission.
