Notice is hereby given that the City of Lakewood will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday April 15, 2020 at 6:30pm for the purpose of considering the City’s proposed FY20-FY24 Five-Year Consolidated Plan (Con Plan) and FY20 Annual Action Plan prior to submitting these documents to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Every five years Lakewood prepares a Consolidated Plan as a condition of receiving federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funding from HUD. The Consolidated Plan is carried out via (5) One-Year Action Plans which serve as the City’s annual funding applications to HUD.
Based on a thorough analysis of market conditions and available resources, the Consolidated and Action plans identify and prioritize community and economic development needs; describe place-based strategies to address high-priority housing, human services, infrastructure, neighborhood revitalization, and homelessness needs; and establish accomplishment goals in these areas.
The amounts and proposed uses of supplemental CDBG and ESG funding the City of Lakewood will receive through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act will also be discussed.
