Funeral Procession Information for Cleveland Police Officer Jamieson Ritter

The City of Lakewood would like to express its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Cleveland Police Officer Jamieson Ritter, who was killed in the line of duty in the early morning hours Thursday, July 4.  

A funeral procession will take place beginning at Chambers Funeral Home located at 4420 Rocky River Dr, Cleveland, OH 44135. The procession will travel north on Rocky River/Riverside Drive and will briefly pause at the West Park Police and Fire Memorial located at Riverside Drive and Ogontz Avenue. It will then continue north on McKinley Avenue and enter I-90 eastbound toward St. John’s Cathedral in downtown Cleveland. 

Please note that these roads will be temporarily closed to allow the procession to travel through the area for a brief period falling between the hours of 9:00 AM and 10:15 AM: 

• Riverside Drive from Hilliard Blvd. to Ogontz Ave. 
• McKinley Avenue from Riverside Drive to North Marginal Drive. 
• I-90 South Marginal at McKinley Avenue (no access to I-90 East). 
• I-90 eastbound exit ramp onto McKinley Avenue 

The I-90 McKinley westbound exit ramp onto McKinley will be open and traffic will be diverted northbound onto McKinley Avenue. 

The public is welcome to stand with the City of Lakewood public servants along the procession route, but please avoid the area unless you plan to pay your respects to Officer Ritter.
