Home intruder shot during Lakewood break-in
April 12, 2017On Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 6:51 a.m. the Lakewood Police Department received a call from an off-duty police officer, from another jurisdiction, reporting a male had broken into his home and that he had shot at the suspect. LPD also received calls from other citizens in the area of Grace and Franklin reporting the sounds of gunshots.
The suspect was described as a black male, 6’, wearing a black hat, jeans and black t-shirt.
Officers checking the area for the suspect located a male at 1645 Clarence with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Lakewood Fire Medics were dispatched and the male transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. The male matched the description of the suspect.
The suspect will be identified when charges are filed.
The investigation is continuing.
