Kids Cove Playground Getting a Makeover: Resident Feedback Sought
November 15, 2015Most in Lakewood agree that the Kids Cove playground at Lakewood Park could use an update.
The city of Lakewood is currently undergoing a planning process for the redesign and reconstruction of Kids Cove. City officials are looking for input from residents to get the process moving.
“Kids Cove has been a vital piece of our community and we want to ensure future upgrades meet the needs and desires of parents and children alike,” said city planner Jason Russell.
The goal is to begin construction of Kids Cove in the fall of 2016.
The city is hosting a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 to review the conceptual site plan and preliminary playground equipment selections. Residents’ thoughts, comments and feedback will greatly influence how current and future Lakewood children enjoy Kids Cove.
Residents are encouraged to fill out a short survey to collect feedback about Kids Cove and other playground experiences to help inform the process.
“We’re hoping that residents help spread the word about the meeting and share the link to other parents in the Lakewood community,” added Russell. “We truly want this project to reflect what our community wants as a premier playground.”
