Lakewood Seeking Applicants for Youth Council Planning Task Force
February 05, 2019The city of Lakewood is looking for high-school age youth volunteers for the Youth Council Planning Task Force. The task will be to create a framework for a future Lakewood Youth Council which will include: (1) a mission and vision; (2) By-laws; and (3) a Recruitment plan and application. The Youth Council Planning Task Force will be supported by the Mayor, City Council and the Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Commission.
If you are interested in applying for the Youth Council Planning Task Force, please click here for the application form. Applicants should be Lakewood residents in grades 9-12. Applications are due by February 15, 2019.
It should be noted that this is NOT an applications for membership on the Lakewood Youth Council. Applications for membership on the Lakewood Youth Council will be solicited later this year. The purpose of the future Youth Council will be to create leadership and civic engagement opportunities for youth to address youth concerns and perspectives and act as an advisory council to the city and the community on issues affecting youth.
