Mayor George Seeking Applicants for Lakewood Boards and Commissions
February 10, 2020Are you looking to make an impact in Lakewood? Mayor George is currently seeking applications for her appointments on the following boards and commissions:
Citizens Advisory Commission: The Lakewood Citizens Advisory Committee reviews and researches community development needs and the consolidated plan of the city. In this context, they review proposals for federal funds and make recommendations to City Council based on the needs of the community.
Community Relations Advisory Committee: The Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Commission was established in 2005 to serve in an advisory capacity for the purpose of educating, informing and making recommendations to City officials, departments, boards and commissions on matters relating to community relations within the City of Lakewood in an effort to advance respect for diversity, bonds of mutuality, and equity.Planning Commission: The Lakewood Planning Commission reviews requests for lot consolidations and splits, and determination of similar and conditional uses. Oversees the Community Vision and reviews the use of land across the city.
Civil Service Commission: The Lakewood Civil Service Commission provides testing to determine merit and fitness of qualified applicants for original and promotional appointment to classified positions with the city.
