Meet the New Human Services Director: Chad Berry

Meet Chad Berry, the new Human Services Director for the City of Lakewood. Chad brings a breadth of experience working in social services to the role, and holds a master of science and social administration and is a licensed independent social worker. While he may be new to the position, Chad has served the residents of Lakewood since 2019 alongside recently retired Toni Gelsomino.

With the department of Human Services recent relocation to the Cove Community Center, Chad is excited about the next potential for the department in its new space. “My goal is to create a true Community Center where everyone feels comfortable and welcome to stop by, have a cup of coffee, participate in an activity and be enriched by sitting and chatting with others of diverse backgrounds and experiences. I also have the goal of expanding the offerings of the Department of Human Services across all ages or act as a convening body to make sure that the residents of Lakewood have access to the resources that they need.
