Police Investigating Disturbing Criminal Damaging Incident
August 16, 2017On Wednesday August 16, 2017 at 8:54 AM, the Lakewood Police Department received a call from the resident at 1246 Belle reporting damage to his vehicle and two swastikas spray painted on his driveway.
The damage to the victim’s vehicle consisted of a broken window that occurred sometime the night of August 14th to the morning of August 15th. The painting on the driveway occurred during the night of August 15th to the morning of August 16th. The victim has no suspects.
During our follow-up investigation another swastika was located painted in the street in front of 1257 Belle.
According to Mayor Michael Summers, “Lakewood works very hard to maintain vibrant, inclusive and safe neighborhoods, and this type of shock graffiti has no place in Lakewood. Hateful acts must be condemned and confronted where-ever they occur. Our Police Department will work very hard to identify and prosecute the parties responsible for this violent and repulsive act.”
