First Energy has informed the public that their crews are working around the clock to remove hazards and restore power, and have brought in additional teams to help the recovery effort. They have stated that this will likely be a multi-day process to get power reconnected.

As information becomes available, we will continue to update the City’s social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads) and communicate via ReadyNotify.

Lakewood Public Works teams and Safety Forces are working extended hours to clean up debris and assist those in need.

Remember, do not approach downed power lines and report them by calling 911. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

Reception Center at Hayes Elementary

The Reception Center at Hayes Elementary will open again tomorrow, August 8 from 9 AM To 6 PM. Residents can come to cool off, charge devices, and grab refreshments.

Lakewood Police, Fire/EMS, and Human Services personnel will be on site to assist.
