FirstEnergy Delivers Mobile Generator to Lakewood In Response to Power Outages

Mayor George continues to be in constant contact with FirstEnergy to push for urgent action that will restore power to Lakewood homes. Per FirstEnergy, a main cause of the current outages are failures of the underground lines feeding the Lauderdale substation.

In response to Mayor’s demands for immediate action, FirstEnergy has delivered a mobile generator that will be hooked into the Lakewood power grid. This generator will be placed at Hayes Elementary School and should help reduce capacity loss while the Lauderdale substation is repaired.

The Mayor will continue ongoing dialogue with FirstEnergy until the current outages are remedied and the City will provide updates to residents as the situation evolves.

The City of Lakewood will continue its advocacy for long-term solutions that FirstEnergy has committed to implementing to improve Lakewood’s power grid.
