Early Childhood

Overview

The Division of Early Childhood provides support, education, and community-building programs for Lakewood residents raising or caring for children from birth through age eight. A cornerstone of the division is the Lakewood Family Room, a community space at Cove Community Center that offers free, facilitated programs designed to strengthen families and foster child development.

The division also assists families by providing childcare scholarship resources and maintaining a consortium of local early childhood professionals to ensure high-quality educational standards across the city.
